I don't typically involve myself in f*ggy e-boi drama, but the YouTube content creator community has been buzzing with activity following a new controversy involving Kris Tyson, the trans best friend of MrBeast, the most-subscribed YouTube channel geared primarily toward kids. Last year, Tyson's public announcement that he is now a trans woman made waves across the community. Many were upset when he also revealed that he would be leaving his wife and young child to pursue this new chapter of his life. Given MrBeast's significant influence on young audiences and Tyson's very visible presence on the MrBeast channel up until that point, the announcement sparked major concerns among many online about the potential impact the announcement would have on kids, as one of their biggest icons transitions into a woman after years of building a dedicated fan base. Naturally, derogatory remarks began flying, as did baseless accusations around Tyson being a pedophile simply because he is a trans person, playing off the harmful stereotype that "transgenderism is a mental illness and/or a fetish that attracts pedophiles."

Eventually, Beast caved and put out a statement on X to defend his best friend and fending off the dominant narrative at that time, which was that Kris was going to be a "nightmare" for MrBeast due to the optics and contention around trans issues. At that time, the major discussion point among MrBeast fans and other content creators was how Tyson's transition would affect the larger MrBeast enterprise - an enterprise that has managed to keep completely free of any political influence, created as a fun, innocent escape from daily reality.
