The Tennessee Star has published what it claims to be the complete 2023 journal of Audrey Hale, the perpetrator of the tragic Covenant School shooting in Nashville. This release comes despite a court order aimed at preventing public disclosure of the documents. You can read an article about the release here.
The 90-page journal, released on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, reveals Hale's disturbing thoughts leading up to the attack. Entries from January through March 27, 2023—the day of the shooting—show streams of consciousness that gradually focused on ending Hale's life while also taking others.
Key revelations include:
References to a planned "massacre" initially set for January 17, 2023, which Hale postponed
Expressions of deep emotional distress and suicidal thoughts
Detailed plans for the attack, including intentions to "use guns in my suicide"
Mentions of mental health struggles and self-criticism
In my Telegram chat, a good friend of the show, s_ScalpS_s, was kind enough to share the entire .pdf of Hale's journal, and also provided some interesting information to go along with it. Apparently, Hale had been being treated by the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Center for 22 years before the shooting. Which is wild, because Hale was very young, which would mean that he was being seen by this unit for psychiatric care basically his whole life.
In this Tennessee Star article published last year, they discuss the police' interest in Hale's medical records from the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The article reads:
The Tennessee Star has obtained a Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) internal document labeled “Vandy Psych” which appears to be notes taken by an MNPD officer tasked with reviewing documents obtained via a search warrant granted for Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital, part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), on June 1, 2023.
The notes indicate that on page 38 of the documents retrieved from VUMC, the MNPD officer saw that Covenant killer Audrey Elizabeth Hale, who killed six people at Covenant School in Nashville on March 27, 2023, had 'Thoughts of killing Dad in and struggles with mental health. Recent thoughts of going into a school and shooting a bunch of people.'
In that same article, they link to the affidavit itself. Screencap below:
On page 4 of the affidavit, four drugs are listed as being prescribed to Hale, although it was later found to be 5 in total, including an anti-anxiety benzodiazepine drug. Here's the list:
Buspirone – Anxiety
Escitalopram (Lexapro) – Depression
Hydroxyzine – Anxiety
Sodium Chloride – Nasal Spray
Importantly, the article also states that the psychiatric unit/medical center treating Hale failed to warn law enforcement and officials about Hale's violent machinations and urge to murder. The article continues:
The Star has learned that Drake acknowledged VUMC staff failed to adhere to Tennessee Code 33-3-206, which at the time of Hale’s March 27, 2023 attack mandated mental health professionals and behavioral analysts 'shall take reasonable care to predict, warn of, or take precautions to protect the identified victim from the service recipient’s violent behavior.'
Upon learning of a mental health patient’s threat, Tennessee Code 33-3-207 explains they are meant to inform identified victims, take steps to voluntarily or involuntarily commit the patient, and continue mental health treatment.
While there is no criminal penalty for mental health professionals who neglect their duty to warn, Tennessee Code 33-3-209 suggests mental health professionals who fail to warn could face monetary liability in court.
A scholarly journal article presented by the National Library of Medicine explains that psychiatrists could face professional and civil consequences for failing to warn intended victims or targets of an individual, and specifically that a psychiatrist who releases a patient without gathering pertinent information about their capability to commit a violent attack could face civil liability.
Tracing the path of the investigation into the shooting, you can see law enforcement's interest in this dimension of the incident right away. In another article from the Tennessee Star, they reveal that there was actually search warrants that were run on the home and office of the therapist treating Hale, likely to obtain any notes or documentation around their treatment.
The article states:
The psychologist’s alleged failure in her duty to warn was first reported on 99.7 WTN’s Brian Wilson radio show on Friday.
'The ongoing [MNPD] investigation [into the Covenant killings] apparently focuses on the shooter’s therapist,' Wilson said.
'Metro Nashville Police Department is remaining silent on this, but sources familiar with the investigation confirm that search warrants were run on the home and office of the therapist in an effort to obtain notes of the therapy sessions with the Covenant School shooter. One source says detectives have evidence that the shooter told the therapist about fantasies that involved, among other things, killing her parents and carrying out a school shooting of some kind,' Wilson added.
In a June 28th, 2024 article published by the Daily Citizen, Hale’s treatment is expanded upon further:
Hale began treatment at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH) at just 6 years old, according to medical documents obtained from her parents’ home. It’s unclear what she began receiving treatment for, though Hale’s journals repeatedly reference her autism.
By now, many of us are well aware of the consistently repeating theme we see appear in the background of these school shootings and mass casualty incidents: the consistent presence of prescribed medications for mental ailments, such as SSRI medications.
The topic is a controversial one, because it ultimately ends up veering into speculative territory around SSRI medications and whether they are playing any role in the violence unleashed by these shooters. They're commonly prescribed for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and while these medications are generally considered to be effective and well-tolerated, there is ongoing debate about their potential role in violent behavior. Some studies have examined whether SSRIs, in rare cases, might contribute to increased aggression or suicidal thoughts, though these effects are not well-established and are considered rare.
Of course, there's a broader argument to be had about the origin of depression and anxiety and a plethora of arguments against the effectiveness of SSRIs to treat such ailments, but that's for a different time. There’s a lot about SSRIs that can be criticized. Perhaps even an argument that some of the problems they were created to fix (i.e serotonin deficiencies supposedly causing depression).
As more of these shootings occurred over the years, and more and more of the perpetrators were found to be heavily medicated and also seeing psychiatrists or therapists at the time of the attacks, the topic inevitably caught the attention of so-called ‘conspiracy theorists' who began to wonder if something more malicious is going on beneath the SSRI-mass shooting relationship. This concern isn't pulled out of thin air, though; it's informed by our understanding of the history of behavioral modification and mind control programs that have been confirmed to have existed (and possibly still do exist).
We have come to learn that the attempts to master the art of mind control and brainwashing involved the same factors at play in these shooting incidents, which is the medicating of patients at medical facilities exactly like the one Hale was being treated by, and consistent communication with CIA-aligned therapists to ‘manage’ them. At the time, these facilities included the most popular hospitals most people have heard of at one time or another, whose connections to the CIA were kept completely secret.
Many of the people working at these facilities were unaware of the illegal, torturous experiments being unleashed in the designated wings of their facilities by therapists and psychiatrists and scientists and doctors who were tapped by the CIA to aid in such horrific, inhumane endeavors. Therapists, psychiatrists, and doctors all played a crucial role in these experiments, as did the medications they prescribed, and the experimental treatments they would use on their patients, such as electro-shock therapy.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m referring to the CIA’s infamous MKUltra experiments.
I have never been one to ascribe to the belief that these mass shooting incidents are the result of mind-controlled killers who are 'activated' by shadowy handlers and dispatched to unleash such terrors on the world like the more extreme of conspiracy theorists like to say. Obviously, there is no hard evidence that blatantly confirms any ties between these shooters and ongoing mind control programs. However, the fact that many of these shooters are involved in the same type of psychiatric treatments and institutions that were instrumental in furthering the CIA's quest for mind control is certainly curious, and renders such outlandish-sounding theories a bit more credible in my opinion. At the very least, it makes further investigation into this element more justifiable.
This only becomes more true when you consider that one dimension of the CIA's attempts to achieve mind control is the creation of mind-controlled assassins. If that sounds crazy to you, it shouldn't, because it has been admitted to and confirmed by the CIA themselves, and widely reported in various mainstream media outlets in the years following the Church Committee's investigation into the illegal programs.
The CIA's attempts at creating mind-controlled assassins, most notably under programs like MK-Ultra, have long fueled both legitimate investigations and conspiracy theories. Beginning in the 1950s, the CIA sought to explore
